Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting


Hong Kong Permanent HK$500000.00 - HK$600000.00 per annum + Housing, Insurance, Bonus

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports to the relevant parties and regulatory bodies
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and statistical returns to the regulators (including HKMA, MAS, etc.)
  • Provide regulatory reporting advice and process documentation support to IT, business and other finance teams
  • Provide improvement and automation initiatives for the futures reconciliation process, cutting work flows, and improving control measures focusing on HKMA returns and surveys for the bank via the regulatory reporting solution deployment
  • Developed business requirements, managed development and implemented an automated reconciliation matching engine, working closely with IT team within the bank organization
  • Deal with IT, business and Risk Compliance units, auditors, and regulators for financial and regulatory reporting matters
  • To work together with other functions, such as Risk, IT and business, to develop automated solution and systems that could be used across different entities within the bank as far as possible.
  • To address HKMA queries in a professional way.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of HKMA reporting and regulatory bodies requirements across the region
  • Communicate with the IT, Business, Finance and Risk and Compliance units within the bank organization
  • Project management and business analysis experience in regulatory reporting on Basel II, Basel III, Dodd Frank, FATCA
  • Ability to perform requirement gathering and analysis independently
  • Ability to work in an organized way, multi-tasking, managing data, and achieve deadlines
  • Inter-personal skills which are sufficiently well developed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to various senior stakeholders
  • High levels of drive and resilience along with attention to detail
  • Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgement
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese
