Brief:

Salt are currently recruiting for an experienced UI Developer to join our client, a User experience agency in the heart of London – They are looking for someone who can not only bring ideas to the table, to discuss your ideas openly with your team, to expand and developer your ideas into working products.
The UI Developer should excel in their understanding of mobile design and experience, should be confident in responsive design and development from a mobile first perspective with all browsers and devices in mind for best accessibility and usability.

The client is a leading user experience agency in London, passionate about their clients, their end-users and specialise in retail, hospitality and travel using Oracle Cloud based technology to demonstrate the customer experience and accelerate digital commerce across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Hand code semantic, standards-compliant, and cross-browser compatible HTML and CSS
  • Have expert knowledge of CSS3 and HTML5 standards
  • Implement CSS Architectural concepts like SMACSS, BEM and OOCSS
  • Write JavaScript from scratch and be able to re-purpose advanced JavaScript functionality
  • Have Expert knowledge of OO JavaScript, strong knowledge of Javascript design patterns and strong knowledge of JavaScript MV* frameworks and concepts (i.e. Backbone, Angular, knockout js)
  • Work collaboratively with other project team members, including those from Creative, Technology, Quality Assurance
  • Provide clear and timely communication to the ID lead, the project manager, and the rest of the project team
  • Cropping and optimising graphics for the web using PhotoShop
  • Estimating interface development work effort
  • Learn new technologies in order to keep up with current trends or as required by new projects
  • Be relied upon to see projects through to completion with high accuracy

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a project development team
  • proven track record of delivering projects ships on time, within budget and at the highest of quality code.
  • High Standard CSS3, SASS/LESS, JavaScript, and HTML5 code and code reviews.
  • Own client user stories
  • Experience with React and Angular
  • Strong understanding and experience with TDD – Test Driven Development
  • Provide input, influencing and mentoring across the technology stack.
  • Understanding of JavaScript frameworks, require, browserify, webpack
  • Strong experience with troubleshooting code
  • Comfortable with Command line
  • Experience with Version Control
  • Our ideal candidate will have:
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript (thorough understanding of OO principles, modular architecture, and common design patterns)
