Senior Content Strategist – Leading London Agency

My client an award-winning digital growth agency is searching for a Senior Content Strategist to develop social strategies across multiple channels on behalf of their exciting clients base.

The Role

The Senior Content Strategist will manage at least 2 direct reports and will be responsible for helping in the creation, management and development of outreach and social media strategies for the agency’s extensive client base, in order to gain natural links, social engagement and PR exposure.

This role reports directly to the content marketing manager and will sit within a team of strategists, working with relevant clients and internal teams and stakeholders, in particular the SEO Consultancy team, the Blogger Relationship team, the Events team and the Copywriting/Creative teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop content and social strategies for potential and existing clients – exercising creative thought, social media and link earning expertise, and commercial knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities for content that will generate interest, coverage and links for our clients, both within the blogging sphere and mainstream news outlets.
  • Develop an understanding of the client’s tone of voice which can be worked into all content creation and social media strategies.
  • Working closely with the Outreach Specialists and Event Manager to ensure delivery of your strategies and that best practices are up to date and creative ideas are realistic.
  • Develop partnerships with clients and establishing yourself as a trusted source of new media insight and knowledge.

Key responsibilities

  • SEO, social marketing and link acquisition experience:
  • Experience in conception and creation of content and an understanding of how to tailor it to each digital platform, with the aim of attracting natural links, journalistic coverage and social engagement.
  • Experience in creating highly sharable ‘viral’ content.
  • Strong grasp of baseline online marketing: SEO, Web Site Analytics (Google, Omniture, Compete), Web Site Design & UI, ROI Analysis, PPC Campaigns, Content Development, Domain Research and Selection, Blog Platforms, Technologies and Processes.
  • Strong SEO knowledge, particularly related to off-page SEO factors. What makes sites rank, and how will that change in the future? It’s essential that you have a progressive attitude to SEO.
