Digital Communications Lead (1 Year Contract) – Oxford – up to £45K plus Bonus

Due to a maternity cover, they are seeking a Digital Communications Lead who will work in collaboration with the Head of Content and the wider content team; this person drives and delivers the company’s digital communications strategy and campaigns, encompassing email marketing, social media, and content creation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce online content that support business objectives
  • Co-ordinate all activities in line with wider marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Work with the marketing and content teams to track and report on the effectiveness of digital communications
  • Drive the email marketing strategy for the brand, to ensure we’re employing best practices and using the right technologies
  • Send email marketing communications on behalf of the company and maintain automated communications
  • Send emails (business updates, marketing, system announcements) on behalf of teams from around the business
  • Operate and maintain HubSpot marketing automation in support of our new products & services marketing strategies
  • Alongside the Content Marketing Executive, help manage The UK Domain’s social media channels
  • Support the Content Marketing Executive and PPC Executive in running paid social media campaigns
  • Create and implement visual/written/video content to educate SMEs and individuals about how they can achieve more online
  • Use the CMS’s to manage the updating and maintenance of all internal and external website content, to ensure it stays up-to-date, relevant and engaging
  • Be the bridge between the marketing teams and other teams within the business using social media (e.g. corporate communications, HR, and customer services) to ensure the company’s content and social media strategy is sound and implemented effectively, also providing training and advice where necessary
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
  • Analyse campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising and improving the performance of digital campaigns
  • Support all areas of the marketing team
  • Agency and freelancer management as required.

Skills and requirements

  • Strong experience around email marketing, with experience in HubSpot and .dotmailer preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience within a similar role
  • B2B industry exposure
  • Degree education, or equivalent
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and work with new technologies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement
  • Experienced digital communications expert ideally in IT/technology sector
  • Basic understanding of the Internet industry
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Able to analyse data
  • Professional and credible
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Work well to tight deadlines
