Working to support the Head of Marketing Data Centre, you will be responsible for all aspects of the client’s First Party Data (CRM) Database. Your main focus will be improving their capability to develop a 360° view of their consumers, identifying distinct campaign first party audiences, and retaining a holistic view of CRM activities to manage consumer contact frequency and rules.

The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable working to enhance a large scale CRM Database, both independently and having enough force of character to influence large, established teams.

Role and Responsibilities

  • First Party Data Strategy – Developing and delivering the First Party Data Strategy for the UK business, aligned to the commercial priorities of the business; to enhance our view of consumers’ interactions across all platforms, leverage data to identify distinct audiences for campaign targeting, and improve the ability to draw our meaningful insights and trends.
  • Consumer Database Enhancements / Data Engineering – Working with European and Global HQ Big Data teams to develop a 360 view of our consumers, and their interactions, and enhance local database with additional data sets / third party tools as relevant.
  • Targeting Recommendations – Working with Divisional CRM and Digital Marketing teams, to provide targeting recommendations to power their activity and campaigns.
  • Data Science & Propensity Modelling – Working with Divisional CRM and Digital Marketing teams, to collaborate with European Office to build out Data Science capability, in order to develop propensity models and associated audiences for flagship products.
  • CRM Platform Enhancements – Working with our European Office to develop and deliver the technical roadmap of improvements to the CRM Platform (Adobe Campaign), to enhance the ability to deliver relevant, personalised activity at scale.
  • CDM Campaign Calendar – Working with Divisional CRM leads to hold the master campaign calendar for all CRM activity; maintaining agreed consumer contact frequency rules, and working with Divisional CRM teams to prioritise divisional audiences where necessary.
  • CDM Test & Learn Roadmap and Reporting – Working with CRM Agency and Divisional CRM leads, to develop clear test and learn approaches for larger campaigns, and developing / sharing full campaign wrap ups to include campaign insights and recommendations for future optimisations / enhancements.
  • Stakeholder management – You’ll need to act as a bold Data representative within internal meetings, liaising with members of the marketing and product teams on a regular basis. There will also be potential for face-to-face time with executive team members, updating them on key opportunities and seeking relevant approvals.
  • Agency liaison – You’ll need to effectively communicate with existing Data Agency teams, directing them on projects and driving for results.

Skills and Qualifications

What do we need for this role?

  • This role requires someone with extensive CRM and Data experience and a strong character. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable working independently and with large, established teams.
  • You will be able to clearly understand, implement and articulate complex segmentation models, to improve personalisation and relevance of Direct Communications.
  • You should also have expert working technical knowledge of common CRM tools and Database structures, and be on top of the latest trends in the industry

Essential Hard Skills:

  • A university degree in Business, Marketing and/or Retail
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience working in an operational Data Marketing role requiring technical knowledge and day to day management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of Relational Database structures, and usage of SQL to develop campaign targeting & segmentation approaches.
  • Understanding of the Consumer Electronics / Technology consumer online experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise of digital tools & techniques and developing creative solutions
  • Proven project management skills – capable of delivering project plans, managing digital schedules across parallel projects
  • Ability to effectively manage agencies and to work in large cross functional teams
