Digital Marketing Manager (B2B Publishing) – London – £40-45K plus £5KBonus

THE COMPANY

In 2005, my client started their business with the aim of differentiating themselves from the competition. They are a leading B2B publishing company with offices in London and internationally.

With five market leading publications and more than 70 events every year, the company provides the readers of their web sites and magazines, the users of their research and the delegates to their events the final say on all things financial.

THE ROLE

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the management and development of all digital channels across the brand to help support the growth and maintenance of its digital revenues. Reporting to the head of marketing the role works across the whole business and is the digital ambassador for the company and the services it provides externally and internally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for exploring, scoping, influencing and implementing new digital opportunities for the development of our readers, clients, delegates and efficiency of internal staff
  • Work closely and support commercial director, head of marketing and head of production with the implementation of any new digital content platforms and advise on best practice
  • Stress test all new digital products opportunities
  • Responsible for the day-today running with digital execs of our platform providers including: BrightCove, Teads, AdYouLike, MOAT
  • Regularly audit and manage the efficiency of all digital products for the business and make recommendations for improvements/ staff training / development
  • Educate, communicate and provide appropriate relevant digital marketing messaging and training to sales team/editorial on digital changes and functionalities
  • Represent the company at any digital agency pitches and any required clients’ meetings
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all of the brand’s websites (events and publishing) front end and back end with support from digital team members
  • Account management of all digital providers
  • Provide insight through regular reporting on user behaviour and analysis
  • Management of budgeted spend in conjunction with head of marketing with external suppliers’ vs forecast to ensure timely project delivery and any unforeseen overspend

Line management of digital executives

  • Performance management, coaching, resourcing and training and development for direct reports
  • Support and monitor workload and overall progress against objectives to ensure high employee engagement and progress
  • Monitor and organise teams to provide reporting on all digital assets, analytics and systems

Social media

  • Develop, maintain and ensure all relevant content is distributed through relevant social media channels
  • Educate, train and influence internal staff on social media best practice to support the company’s growth and engagement on social media
  • Advise, influence and ensure best practise techniques are being delivered via all social media channels for maximum engagement from communities
  • Produce regular reporting on social media growth and engagement in line with Group digital editor direction and expectation

    Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge on trafficking systems and techniques (DFP, MOAT, Double click)
  • 5+ years’ experience in the publishing industry with knowledge of technology platforms, market trends, systems and industry benchmarks
  • Understanding of the sales process is imperative, knowing how to innovate and create revenue opportunities with sales
  • Strong knowledge of CMS systems including and not limited to WordPress
  • Management of third party suppliers and an understanding on web development and project management techniques
  • Knowledge on how to develop and improve user and data workflows
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Understanding on viewability, deliverability and best practices are crucial
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create reports in Google Analytics
