Senior Strategy Manager (Brand Planning) – M4 Corridor – up to £75K plus Car Allowance and 20% Bonus

THE COMPANY

My client is one of the most innovative and well known mobile brands in the UK; with a strong strategy to reach more customers globally, they are expanding the marketing team and seeking a Brand Strategy Lead.

THE ROLE

This would be an ideal move for Strategic Agency Account Director, with a strong background in Brand Planning to move client side.

This role will report into the Head of Brand and will be responsible for the development and implementation of a multi Brand strategy that will help us achieve our ambition of doubling the size of our business and becoming a best loved brand. Working in a team of six, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing a robust master brand strategy and building a consistent and effective brand story that plays out both externally for our customers, as well as internally for our people.
  • Work with cross functional teams to facilitate and support the delivery of our master brand story cohesively across the wider business and through all brand communications.
  • Work collaboratively with the strategy and insights team to monitor brand tracking and interpret insights to inform and refine our long term brand strategy.
  • Directly involved in the creation of our long term multi brand strategy, by being responsible for the positioning and creation of new brands / brand identity to help unlock opportunities within new segments and deliver our growth ambition.
  • Management of the overall brand portfolio architecture, including brand principles, brand values and purpose, creation of the brand’s “higher purpose” and strengthening our core brand identity.
  • Driving branding theory and practice to achieve disruption within the industry and delivering true differentiation v our competition.

Role Purpose:

Responsible for working closely with key stakeholders in the creation of actionable strategies that ensure we achieve our overall company goals. Gathering internal and external data to build a rich but concise picture of our operating environment to inform key strategic business decisions. This includes working with relevant internal and external experts in the strategy development process. As well as providing expertise as an internal consultant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and delivers required outcomes for a project while reporting to senior colleagues.
  • Development of strategic plans in pursuit of organisational objectives for growth, identifying new opportunities, efficiency improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Develops procedures for area of expertise with guidance from senior colleagues, then monitors implementation of those procedures within the organisation.
  • Develops and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.
  • Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organisation’s change management program with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Writes and edits materials for a variety of target populations, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and external market influences.
  • Other responsibilities will include project tracking and reporting; negotiation; assessment; customer and market analysis; project management; action planning, critical thinking; planning and organising and commercial acumen.

Please ONLY apply if you possess the following:

  • At least 7 years strategic brand management experience, ideal backgrounds would include FMCG, agency or global retail brand
  • Must have experience in long term planning as well as sub brand / brand portfolio management
  • Must be more strategic than creative. It will be this person’s responsibility to put creations / propositions into action using strategic planning
  • Must be used to working in a fluid environment with a lot of autonomy
  • Telecoms / Mobile knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
