Business Development Manager

This “Business Development Manager” (BDM) role is responsible for developing new business opportunities for one of my clients which is a SaaS Travel company through the identification and attraction of new clients, specifically within Germany. The “Business Development Manager” will target large independent hotels and small hotel chains approaching them with the company’s full suite of products. This is a fantastic role for anybody looking to combine their interest in the travel industry as well as sales!

Responsibilities

  • You will plan and prioritise business development activities to achieve business aims and sales targets for defined regions (Germany)
  • Leverage existing industry contacts in Europe to increase client base and brand coverage with the DACH region
  • You will utilize and develop innovative strategies to maximize results and win over challenging targets
  • Respond to all incoming product enquiries, referrals and leads in a timely and effective manner
  • Source opportunities and canvas potential clients via cold calling / lead gen
  • Preparation of accurate quotes, development and presentation of proposals to clients in a professional and confident manner
  • Achieve sales KPI’s and targets
  • Sales to be finalized in a timely manner, with a focus being placed on being proactive
  • Maintain regular contact with prospective clients and new accounts
  • Account Management of new clients to maintain customer satisfaction until they are passed on to a dedicated Account Manager and/or the Training and Implementation team
  • Provide client feedback on products to the Product Development team so that products can be reviewed in line with feedback
  • Travel as required to client locations to attend meetings with relevant managers

Core Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the Travel and Hotel industry in Germany
  • Proven sales experience, in particular cold calling new clients and organizing / conducting sales meetings
  • Experience negotiating with revenue managers and/or marketing managers
  • Ability to sell Software-as-a-Service business applications to existing and new clients
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with experience dealing with people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Technical aptitude
  • Passion for the online technology
  • Proven background in achieving and exceeding sales targets
