Head of Data & Analytics

We are currently partnering with an exciting e-commerce business who are going through a period of growth following very successful sales, and they’re looking for a Head of Data to join their leadership team. This will be largely hands on to start with to help set up the data warehouse / data lake and carry out a review of their current technology estate and help with the roadmap / strategy going forward.

In this role you will be overseeing the development and delivery of data and analytics in line with industry best practices and the business requirements. There is a great opportunity to build a strong team of Data Engineer’s & Data Analyst’s and previous experience in mentoring / training more junior members of staff in data will be crucial.

In the early stages of the job you will be:

· Analysing the current technology – Azure Data warehouse and GCP data lake currently

· Establishing how these technologies are working with the business

· Put an architectural strategy together and suggest new platforms, tools and technologies

Key Responsibilities longer term:

· Own and deliver strategic plans in Data

· Design and deliver roadmap

· Continually improve on ways the business uses data

· Implement strong data quality and governance

· Focus on a self service analytical solution within the business

· Recruit, lead and train a world class data team

Ideally you will have a technical background as this will be a hands on technical role to start with and grow into the leadership role once the architecture is laid out and then recruitment can start.
