A Business Intelligence Developer is required to join an existing BI team to build upon a new data warehouse implementation and extend and support Data feeds and Data Services for the business. The role will entail SQL Server development (2014/16) – namely ETL, database development, Data Warehouse (including dimensional modelling) development, data analysis, testing and performed using best practice development lifecycle practices.


Maintain and develop SQL Server SSIS packages (SSIS) covering the ETL for the Data Warehouse and also for Data feeds and Data Services managed, maintained and developed by the BI Team.
Support and maintain the Data Warehouse operationally ensuring its accuracy, performance and availability.
Adhere to development standards and development lifecycle best practices to ensure swift release/deployments through environments (GIT used for version control)
Effective Unit Testing and verifying own work to high standards
Perform data analysis for reconciliation, investigating data anomalies and present findings from a variety of different data sources.
Ad-Hoc report development
Work with other BI Team members (BI Analysts) as part of an agile team using Scrum and Kanban (using JIRA)


Experienced and capable BI Developer / Analyst using SQL Server 2014 or 2016 covering:
Experienced ETL and Data Warehouse development skills including a good understanding and practical application of dimensional modelling
Experienced in using version control tools, developing in db Projects and working across environments using MSBuild.
Exposure to CI a plus.
Good unit testing and a good eye for detail
Good data analysis skills, able to trouble shoot and problem solve effectively
Excellent verbal, written communication skills with an ability to converse appropriately with business users and technical teams
Ability to use C# within SSIS for performing various tasks (script task use)


Retail background exp.
SQL Server administration skills
Agile / Scrum background
Exposure to a main BI tool advantageous (e.g. MicroStrategy or other main platform)
Exposure to MongoDB, Google Big Query, R programming
Exposure to Azure or AWS specifically for database development
