Job description
The role is for a contract SAP FICO Consultant to work within a project to support the implementation of SAP within my client’s business and associated business. The implementation will involve an upgrade of an existing SAP GL to SAP ECC 6.0/Netweaver 7.4 and a migration from Microsoft Access Dimensions. The new instance of SAP will have numerous interfaces from multiple Insurance Administration systems. The role will work with finance users, business SME’s, Business Analyst, Project Manager and other SAP FICO Functional and Technical Consultants focusing on:

  • Gathering, understanding and interpreting business requirements
  • Developing SAP solutions, based on Best Practice where possible to meet business requirements including handling interfaces from external Insurance Administration systems
  • Producing Functional Requirement Specifications for the RICEFs identified to support business requirements
  • Testing of solutions implemented


  • Requirements gathering
  • Defining SAP solutions based where possible on SAP Best Practice
  • Development of Functional Requirements Specifications for RICEFs
  • Configuration of SAP to meet business requirements
  • System test against specification and user stories
  • Demonstration of completed functions to key business users
  • Input into UAT approach and test plans
  • Input into Training approach and documentation

Required skill and attributes:

  • Successful track record of delivering SAP implementations in a high pressure & complex business environment
  • Experience in SAP FI and CO modules – New General Ledger (New-GL) including profit centre reporting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cost Centre Accounting (CO-OM-CCA), Internal Order Management (CO-OM-OPA) and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
  • Exposure to Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), including FI/CO integration and tax integration
  • Configuration of SAP FI, CO modules based on business requirements
  • Financial Service experience essential, insurance industry experienced preferred
  • Experience of working using Agile Development
  • Qualified Accountant or QBE ideally
