Technical Lead (Ab Initio)

City of London Contract / 3 month rolling £385 - £485 per day

Role: Technical Lead (Ab Initio)

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects in DWH/BI/Big Data space
  • Participate in requirement elicitation process to identify requirement gaps/issues (functional and non-functional) in order to come up with a comprehensive requirement document
  • Interact with Business users, understand requirements and design solutions using Ab Initio as ETL tool ü Perform high and low level design, implement prototypes in order to deliver the customer

Requirements

  • Get involved in effort estimations, co-ordinate for the same with the team and come up with the project pricing
  • Preparation of detailed schedule for work packet and provide inputs to overall project schedule to ensure on time delivery of project
  • Guide team in developing optimized high quality code

Deliverable

  • perform code reviews and unit test plan reviews
  • Conduct independent testing and sign off code release for testing stage
  • Mentor team on technical competencies and provide performance feedback to the project manager

Skills Required

  • Experience of leading teams for BI/DWH development project using Ab Initio as ETL tool
  • At least 5 years hands on development experience with various Ab Initio components
  • Prior experience of leading large transformation program for client in Data/Information Management
  • Working experience as Ab Initio lead where in involved in requirement gathering, design, development, testing and production implementation of Ab Initio ETL systems
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence best practices, processes, tools, standards, and methodologies
  • Familiarity with Netezza and Big Data will be an added advantage
  • Should possess a strong understanding of Telco domain and various KPIs involved from BI perspective
  • Should have experience and flexibility in working on projects in global delivery model (onsite – offshore)
  • Should have strong technical experience in Design (Mapping specifications, HLD, LLD), Development (Coding, Unit testing) using Ab Initio
  • Must have hands on working experience on Unix Script, database stored procedures and advanced SQL queries
  • Good Understanding on Ab Initio Architecture and Concepts
