We are looking for a highly skilled Dev Ops engineer with good banking experience, you will need to have upto 3-5 years commercial expercience within the devops environement. You will be working with one of the most established businesses within the finance industry working on on some exciting projects.

Required skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively individually or in teams
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in IT operations using best practice to support Linux-based production environments
  • Experience of working in a “DevOps” culture.
  • Defining CI / CD pipelines using appropriate tools – Jenkins preferred
  • Full testing within the pipeline: code quality/integration/regression/performance/security
  • Using / administering issue tracking / workflow / documentation tools – JIRA and Confluence preferred
  • Source code management repository administration / branch management – git preferred
  • Defining configuration as code
  • Defining infrastructure as code
  • Creation of automated testing for code, configuration and infrastructure
  • Scripting in Python / Perl / Ruby
  • Use of virtualisation and/or containerisation in a production environment
  • Use of Cloud-based services (VMs, object storage, SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, memory stores, private networks, etc) in a public cloud – AWS preferred
  • Creation of Cloud automation with Terraform
  • Writing configuration management playbooks using Ansible
  • Full understanding of network security in a cloud context
  • Full creation / configuration of monitoring systems including writing custom checks / plugins
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of APM tools (AppDynamics preferred)
  • Knowledge of high-volume logging tools (Splunk preferred)
  • Programming experience (Java preferred)
  • Administration and use of tools for Java development: Nexus / Maven / Ant
  • Experience of Identity and Access Management principles / management of IAM systems
  • Data Engineering / Data Science experience

Education

  • BSc/MSc Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar
