Java Developer – Digital / Start-up Business (Contract to Permanent) – London, Old Street

Rate: £250 – £300 per day for 2-3 months

Permanent Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Bonus

This a Contract to Permanent Hire ****

My client is based in the heart of Old Street and they are a Digital Start-up business who are looking for a strong back-end Java Developer who will eventually be responsible for building a team of Java Developers in the next 12-18 months and leading the overall development. The organisation has aggressive plans to grow is keen to speak to technically minded individuals who are looking to help build something substantial from the ground up. You will be working directly with CTO and be reporting into him.

Responsible for: Java Developer – Digital / Start-up Business – London, Old Street

  • Ability to produce clean & well documented code
  • Contributing to the overall system design and work on both up front and emergent design
  • Building test automation to provide high coverage of all code under development, including TDD and integration testing
  • Contributing to achieving continuous improvement within the standards and processes for the ongoing development
  • Maintaining good relationships with the Business, internal teams and external partners
  • Willingness to adopt to company culture and enthusiasm for learning new technologies

Technical Skills: Java Developer – Digital / Start-up Business – London, Old Street

  • Java 8 (Functional Programming)
  • Designing and developing RESTful API (Spring Rest, Swagger etc.) – MUST HAVE
  • Distributed architecture (SOA, Micro services, Web Services etc.) – MUST HAVE
  • AWS – MUST HAVE
  • Agile development (Scrum)
  • Spring Framework / JEE
  • JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock
  • ORM (JPA, Hibernate, etc)
  • Databases (MySql)
  • Spring Boot, Spring Security
  • JSON Web Tokens (JWT)
  • Jira, Git, Jenkins, BitBucket
  • Continuous integration
  • Continuous delivery and automation practices
