Java Developer / Engineer – €40,000 – €70,000 – Java IOC frameworks such as Spring or Guice, TDD, BDD and CI / CD

Location – Barcelona

My client is seeking a Java Developer to work within a brand new development team that is building out a platform that interacts with mobile devices and beacons to provide proximity marketing for customers. The applicant will need to be bright, imaginative, and capable technologist specifically seeking an environment where their potential will be maximized through the challenging projects that the company requires to be developed.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is pivotal to the successful delivery of software solutions.

To be considered for this unique opportunity, you will have a strong background in software development and considerable experience in the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities include: – Java IOC frameworks such as Spring or Guice, TDD, BDD and CI / CD

  • Primary responsibility will be to understand, document and fully own an existing Java Server code base
  • Add and enhance the Test Suites and code coverage
  • Production support, release management.
  • Work closely with architects, product managers and backend developers to maintain existing code base and add occasional new functionality as required
  • Propose any code refactoring that either simplifies the existing code or can provide clear performance benefits

Knowledge and skills required: – Java IOC frameworks such as Spring or Guice, TDD, BDD and CI / CD Required Skills

  • Confident Java developer with 4+ years’ experience
  • Experience with Java IOC frameworks such as Spring or Guice
  • Experience with design and implementation of highly scalable systems
  • Experience with high performance transaction systems
  • Understanding of TDD, BDD and CI / CD
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Exposure to working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with design and implementation of highly scalable systems
  • Experience with high performance transaction systems
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure
  • Good understanding of cryptography and the development of secure software / protocols.
  • Familiar with micro services architecture & containerisation tech like Docker
