Experienced Java Developer | A unique opportunity to work for an exciting company to join their organization and be part of safeguarding digital contents/records and making their data and archives usable and accessible for their customers.

You will be a Java Software Engineer working in an Agile team on an exciting new project, this would involve implementing a continuous delivery platform that will enable the company to respond to high volume and rapidly changing archiving needs for their customers in regulated markets such as finance and life science, Working in a cross-functional Agile product development team building features on a distributed framework, working with product managers and QA to ensure software is high quality and taking responsibility for the continuous smooth operation of the software, helping troubleshoot issues, refine and enhance existing features and enable upgrading to new versions and write unit tested and documented code. You will also have the chance to support and mentor junior team members if you want to take responsibility in your new career.

For a motivated individual to succeed here are some Essential skills

  • Proficient with core Java, JDK, multithreading
  • Unit testing, Junit
  • Use of an IoC container, e.g. Spring, Guice
  • Use of an IDE such as Eclipse or Intellij
  • Demonstrated industry experience of product development and delivering software features to meet requirements.
  • Positive attitude to cross-functional team and extending skills across the stack (back-end / front-end / DevOps)


  • Developing microservices and distributed systems on a scalable cloud platform
  • Background in RESTful web services (e.g. Spark, JAX-RS)
  • Deploying, managing and monitoring applications on Linux
  • Cloud-based virtualization technologies (e.g Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience with NoSQL: Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr
  • Managing build dependencies and packaging with Maven
  • Agile engineering practices such as Scrum, Continuous Integration
  • Common open source applications like Apache Kafka, NI FI connectors, Kafka manager, Robo3t and Kibana monitoring
  • Experience of working to ISO 27001 standards
  • Use of a Source Control System such as Git, and JIRA/Confluence for tracking and documentation
