.Net Developer
Our client an established provider of strategic, financial and operating data and analysis to the international oil and gas industry, located in Central London.

As a .Net Developer, you will be actively working on front end web and web services technologies that integrate with their Delphi back-end and associated COM Servers and desktop based applications. You’ll be expected to undertake test driven development and be flexible enough to work as per the project needs in a small team. You will be participating in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) using Agile methods as appropriate and will be expected to serve in a lead capacity on high priority enhancements and devoting additional time to analyse system performance.
Content growth and associated projects has given rise to the requirement to move legacy software applications to new platforms. We are looking for an individual with excellent planning and analytical skills who can work alongside our existing programmers to help make the transition in future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain diverse software applications
  • Write code supported with effective unit and integration tests
  • Setup CI or other build integration techniques to help release software
  • Read, understand and flesh out requirements to be implemented; provide technical input and advice on implementation strategies
  • Implement completed designs from specifications
  • Complete system maintenance
  • Troubleshoot system problems and bug fixing
  • Complete other assignments and tasks as required
  • Provide support to users and co-workers with application issues as needed

Key Essentials:

  • Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • At least 5 years of software web development experience
  • Some experience with TDD and Agile methodologies
  • SQL Server experience
  • XML, COM, Client/Server and Multithreaded programming experience is mandatory
  • Design patterns and their applications

Beneficial:

  • Possess strong problem analysis and decision-making ability
  • Possess demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to other (non) technical members of the team
  • Prior experience of Agile/Scrum
  • Practical experience of working with version control systems i.e. MS Team Foundation Server, GIT
  • Experience of test driven development using MS Unit Test framework or NUnit
