Front End Developer

We are currently recruiting for a Front End Developer to join a multinational organisation which can be described as (Big data, Data Science, Digital, Cloud based, Intelligent Marketing, very intelligent marketing) high tech business bringing together consumers, retailers and marketers. This is a brand new position within their research and development team and will give you the chance to take control of the role and make it your own whilst working on an exciting projects which is already changing the way we shop and the decisions we make in the retail space.

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to develop the email component of our clients product. You’ll be responsible for enhancing and supporting our customers’ requirements whilst looking to the future and working with the Java engineers to work on the next generation email platform.

As a Frontend Engineer you will estimate, plan, and coordinate with the Email team lead as well as leading the frontend development process. You will report to the Head of R&D.

Develop new user-facing features

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Educate team members about integrating systems collaboratively & efficiently


  • Extensive experience working on large scale online applications.
  • Experience working with web markup including HTML 5, CSS
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platform such as LESS and SASS
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and Javascript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Experience in working with web frameworks like Backbone + Marionette, Angular or React
  • Good understanding of unit testing and common frameworks like Mocha, CapserJS + PhantomJS or others
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Proficient understanding of restful web services.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong business knowledge and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
