Business Intelligence Developer (SAP BO, SQL, SSIS, SSRS) – Digital Business – Kent

Rate: £400 per day

Length: 3-6 months

Midweek Start


  • Job purpose: The Business Intelligence Developer Role is the design, development and support of Business Intelligence systems. This includes integration with databases, data warehouses and report writing.
  • Business Intelligence – gathering requirements, designing and rolling out BI solutions to end users. The BI developer is also responsible for ensuring high levels of availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
  • Data – Designing, developing and implementing data models for enterprise applications and systems.
  • Reports – Evaluate and document report requirements for the business, using appropriate reporting tools to generate reports meet the requirements

Administration – monitoring and reporting on the performance of the BI environment, providing technical support to end users, ensuring license compliance and supportability of the environment in conjunction with the IT technical team.

  • Ability to work with users in a requirements analysis role
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modelling concepts (relational and dimensional)
  • Knowledge of data visualization and visual perception
  • Highly skilled in SQL development and proficiency in SQL Server 2008/2012, T-SQL, POWERVIEW, POWERPIVOT, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of data administration, repository management, and data warehousing
  • Experience with Finance, SAP and HR Data
  • Desire to learn new technologies and skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and judgment abilities
  • Ability to work with/for multiple employees and meet deadlines
  • Solid experience in analysing query performance issues and modifying data structures or application code to remedy performance problems
  • Five years’ developing and implementing enterprise-scale BI tools and dashboards
  • Extensive experience with data warehouse technologies and implementations such as ETL processes, dimensional modelling, and reporting tools
  • Experience in SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition and SiSense BI Platform
  • Experience in deploying reporting solutions, analytical tools and dashboards
  • Experience creating complicated reports and presenting data in a clear and concise format
