Function of department and main purpose of job

The main purpose of the R&D department is to produce and deliver to the end customer a stable desktop EPOS product and surrounding ecosystem that fully complies with the functional specifications. It is also key for the department to always keep ahead of the market, always aiming to create an innovative product.
Our team focuses on developing a modern in-store EPOS solution for restaurants and takeaways as well as a white label website solution and management system. In addition, the team supports existing products.

Our R&D team is split between our UK office and our Sofia office and operates as a single team working closely together.

Duties and responsibilities

The main duties of the role are to develop and maintain a variety of software products within the EPOS market. The server-side and desktop language used in the company is primarily C#, with standard web technologies being used for the web products.

Responsibilities include;

  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
  • Mentoring and supporting more junior members of the team
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation, and amortisation
  • Working in an agile environment with the QA team and product owner

Required

  • 4/5 years minimum experience in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of HTML 5, MVC, Web API, Jquery, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and C# are essential
  • Microsoft certifications in Web development a plus
  • You must be fluent in English
  • As an international company, you may be required to travel to our UK offices from time to time

Preferred but not essential

  • Knowledge of AngularJS, Kendo UI, Entity Framework, IOC, SignalR, SQL Server, Azure and Amazon Web Services (Development and administration) would be an advantage
  • Additional spoken languages would be useful
