The Senior Java Developer will work within a technology team situated in Foreign Exchange, Front Office. They will be charged with taking risk data from several systems, aggregating it into a database, performing reconciliations on the data and making the data available to downstream consumers.

The Senior Java Developer will hold the responsibility for contributing towards the technical development elements of the project whilst solving and troubleshooting routine problems. Focus of the role will be identifying and resolving complex problems determining the right approach to the development of software

Accountabilities: Senior Java Developer (Front Office Risk Technology) – Banking – FX Options, Equity Derivatives – London

  • Collaborate with analysts, users and testers to define and document acceptance criteria
  • Work with other team members and architects to create high quality technical designs
  • Act as a Generalizing Specialist, using primary skills in Java, but also able to use a wide range of secondary skills, such as SQL.
  • Assists central service teams during deployment and release activities

  • FX or Equities front office risk (FX Options, Equity Derivatives)
  • Java (Advanced)
  • Data Concepts
  • Banking – experience of working with trade data (e.g. knowledge that trade will have multiple trade identifiers, that trades have legs, the typical fields on a trade like nominal, settlement date, etc.)
  • Experience with Big data technologies will be added benefit – Hadoop (Spark, Kafka, Hive, Hbase, Hortonworks, HDFS, Multitenancy)
