Android developer

Our client is looking for an Android contractor to support them on their journey of revolutionising healthcare and extend billions of lives globally, using AI and machine learning to predict diseases and prevent illnesses. The work that you will contribute to will have direct impact to both patients and clinicians lives looking at long term illness such as rheumatoid patients or Parkinson’s disease. Some of their customers will use their app as a computer vision tool to help patients assess tremor remotely or other standards illnesses where you need your blood test daily or weekly, they can do this remotely which saves time as well as avoiding hospital and doctor appointments.

The role:

• Designing and building applications for the Android platform
• Ensuring the performance and best quality of responsiveness of applications
• Being able to work independently to delivering amazing product and services
• Collaborate with a cross functional team to define, design and ship new features

Skills:

• Proficient experience in mobile engineering
• Industry expert on the android platform and the ability to use all the industry defined libraries
• Good eye for detail in order to work with the modern trends of material design components
• Experience with Dagger2, Rxjava2, Retrofit2, familiar with third party library integration
• Very good with UI and Core Architectural Design patterns
• Solid experience in writing Unit Tests and UI tests, must be familiar with Junit, Mockito and Espresso
• Experience with source code versioning tools, specifically Github
• Deep experience working on a team of Android engineers building and maintaining large scale apps, or apps that you have built personally
• Strong self-learning skill
• Contributions to open source projects is a plus
• Should actively participate in design discussions and suggest improvements
• Experience working in an agile development environment

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have 5+ years of similar experience
• Proficient experience of software development within Android apps
• Experience of the full mobile software development cycle
• A solid portfolio of highly scalable android apps
• Excellent understanding of mobile design patterns and architecture
