Release Manager, Digital Agency

Exciting opportunity for a Release Manager to work for a leading international Digital design and production agency; that help improve FTSE100 brand strategies based on their in-depth understanding of their client’s reputation, public image and strategic long term goals.

THE ROLE

You work with the QA team that provide development and testing for a number of customer-facing and internal applications used by a number of clients. Their platforms and products run with Agile scrum or Kanban processes.
Release management is handled by their Delivery Management team, with assistance from project teams and Dev Ops.
They have continuous integration and continuous delivery in place with high emphasis on both Dev and QA automated tests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, plan and co-ordinate release activities
  • Support and drive release processes across all client projects
  • Establish, maintain and track the Path to Production for assigned releases / deliverables
  • Liaise with client’s release team and manage the release path to production
  • Understand technical dependencies and with help from Dev Ops effectively prepare
  • environments for release activities
  • Produce release plans considering both technical and non-technical aspects
  • Liaise with QA team to create effective release regression and smoke test plan
  • Support QA team in performing smoke or regression tests required for incremental code change

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a full lifecycle software engineering environment
  • Background in software testing
  • 2 years of experience in release management as a Release Manager or in QA capacity
  • Technical understanding of Rest APIs, XML, SQL, relational databases, HTTP, HTML and Linux based environments
  • Experience of using SCM, ideally GIT and CI tools ideally, Jenkins
  • Ideally have agency experience or something comparable

This is a highly successful and progressive organisation which offers good career progression. The successful candidate will receive a salary between £55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits
