In the case of Robert Anderson and the team he pulled together, the existing problem was how to climb the tallest mountain on the planet without oxygen on an ascent that no human being had attempted before.
This was indeed a compelling platform for a remarkable presentation from Robert regarding his experiences. Furthermore, he was able to share some fantastic life lessons that are directly applicable to business life, especially in the fast moving digital arena:
- How to build teams and address diversity
- How to deal with change
- How to be productive in the absence of resources
- Dealing with adversity
These lessons were brought beautifully to life as he described how they scaled the final ascent without food and only warm jackets to fend off the elements.
How many times have you felt like all you have is a ‘warm jacket’ to help you through business challenges? – I expect this would resonate with many of you in the start up world!
Overall we were absolutely honoured to have Robert present for us and in so doing endorse the Salt brand as an ideal partner for building high performance teams in Digital. We would also like to like to extend a massive thanks to all of our guests who attended the event and contributed to making it such a success. As the pictures demonstrate, it looks like a good time was had by all. Of course, this was facilitated by the excellent tapas from Marta’s kitchen which served to make the evening all the more enjoyable. We also sincerely hope our guests enjoyed the opportunity to network with like-minded people in Digital and share in the evening’s experience.
