Solutions & enterprise sales positions continue to be an essential part of businesses in most industries, particularly for technology companies. As such, the solutions sector is thriving, and constantly on the lookout for new talent.
The primary change for the solutions and enterprise sales industry is related to the attitudes of those working within it. More focus is being put on how those in the industry think, which has led to it being a more client-focused role, rather than straight-up salesmanship. As such, complex sales is more concerned with providing and implementing solutions which will provide the greatest level of benefit to a client, as opposed to giving them the hard sell.
With potential clients always seeking improvements to the way they sell their goods or services on such a large scale, solutions and enterprise sales are generally considered a stable industry.
Candidates looking to take the next step in their solutions and enterprise sales careers should have a comprehensive understanding of the digital financial landscape. This involves knowing how payments work, how the market is segmented, and seeing the potential of a cashless society. Those applying for these roles should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
Your CV should go into depth about your track record of sales, as well as the type of product solutions to which these transactions relate.
Those who have been invited to interview for a job in complex sales should be able to demonstrate charisma and people skills with a positive first impression. Some companies will require a more subtle approach, and ask candidates to give them a sales pitch to assess their analytical skills. You may also need to present case studies, including showing your networking capabilities, displaying a portfolio of your work, and having an overall knowledge of the sector.
