The role is fully remote for now, but they are looking to return to a balance between work and office from early 2022.
About the Role
This is a Design Management opportunity, you’ll identify gaps in the running of the design practice and suggest ways to improve. It’s a thought leadership role, you’ll have a say in design direction but no direct reports.
You’ll join a mature design practice of 20 designers. This role will suit someone who has been a senior for a long time who is ready to step up, they’re looking for someone who has led an outcome or process that wasn’t cookie cutter. You’ll have experience identifying design issues and proactively rallying to make change.
Role Responsibilities
Leading visual craft and feedback, including technical aspects
Championing design thinking to build and drive the design direction
Being an advocate for the customer
Maintaining and pushing for a high level of consistency across all platforms
Be a centre of knowledge on UX and UI design for the team
Assisting the development teams with UX/UI work for new feature development as needed
Helping business stakeholders formulate and visualise raw strategic initiatives
Ensuring the team communicates well across projects
Working closely with the research team to assist in usability testing and customer research
Working with Delivery Managers to create personal development plans for designers
Driving the company vision and continually pushing the customer experience forward
Your Skills & Experience
Experience in leading complex design processes
Extensive responsive web/mobile (iOS and Android) project experience
Passionate about stakeholder engagement
Able to thrive within a fast-paced, agile and high energy environment
Highly motivated and delivery focused
A thought leader, highly versed in storytelling
Ability to sell the company vison and bringing concepts to life
Highly analytical with a creative problem-solving approach
A talent for creating simple, powerful user interfaces
A strong working knowledge of design thinking and the UCD process is key
Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous projects of all sizes and complexity across multiple platforms
Passionate about usability and accessibility, with the ability to translate this into your work
Good technical knowledge to understand what is and isn’t possible
Familiarity with Lean Start Up/ Agile software development principles
