Senior UI Designer – Permanent

The Role:

Passionate about continuously learning and being part of a collaborative team, you’re excellent design skills and enthusiasm for mentoring other designers will see you succeed in this role.

You’ll apply HCD thinking to create best in class, usable and inclusive user interfaces for products, services and features within a project or initiative.

You’ll support junior UI designers, work closely with UX Designers, Developers and the Accessibility team to ensure that consistent high-quality solutions are built.

You’ll be comfortable communicating with and influencing key stakeholders, negotiating for the best customer outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Create designs in alignment with the established design system and Accessibility standards
• Produce high fidelity design artefacts to support the delivery of customer experience and development of designs
• Work closely with development teams to ensure highest quality delivery
• Coach and mentor other designers
• Be an advocate for digital Accessibility guidelines
• Work closely with UX designers, Product Owners, BA’s and development teams
• Facilitate walk-throughs with developers and support all the way through delivery
• Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture
• Apply creative problem solving to new and existing products and features

Your Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of design principles, accessibility standards, UI components and grid systems
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior designers
• Proficiency in responsive design for digital platforms for all device types
• Excellent UI design skills enabling the creation of quality artefacts such as task and user flows, wireframes and high fidelity creative
• Able to communicate well with people of all levels
• Good stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with requirements and recommending improvements
• Experience working within agile environments, using relevant practices and principles
• Good understanding of UX Design methodologies
• Ability to proactively engage design leads and stakeholders to secure buy-in
• Highly skilled in design tools such as Sketch and Invision
• Proficient in Principle and/or other interaction tools
• Strong understanding of HTML/CSS
