About the Company
Our client are a data-focused consultancy specialising in the design and development of technology solutions for their clients.
Experts in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence and Design Thinking, they are in a period of growth due to an influx of new work.
They are drivers of innovation and experimentation, with an R&D function and their own PHD Physicist working on AI, machine learning, and new products.

Working arrangements can be mostly remote, but you will have to be able to travel to Canberra once per fortnight, for important meetings.
The initial project is a government project, so we do require candidates to be Australian Citizens with NV1 or Baseline security clearance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Research and Design Lead, you’ll work closely with a supportive team of designers and researchers, as well as clients, to solve complex problems and create user-friendly products and solutions.
You’ll work closely with the Development, Testing and Data & Analytics teams to ensure innovative, bespoke products are delivered.
Role Responsibilities
Work closely with UX/UI Designers, product managers and IT development teams to craft the best outcomes for our customers
Design and implement research strategies to support software, process and service design
Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders
Facilitate discovery workshops, in-depth interviews and other research work for major projects
Curate research and create artefacts to inform clients clearly and effectively
Compile reports and presentations from research insights to connect with customers and ensure the information is understood and actionable
Be a mentor to junior researchers in our team
Maintain a library of research insights and help determine UX research best practice operating procedures
Champion human centred research and design for our broader organisation
Utilise a wide range of UX research tools and strategies, with a focus on qualitative methods (although additional experience in quantitative methods is desirable).
Your Skills & Experience
A thought leader in the domain of User Research
Passionate about human-centred design
Curious, analytical and collaborative in nature
Excellent time-management skills
A strong interest in creative problem-solving and a positive attitude
A pattern finder and holistic thinker
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
A degree or postgraduate qualification in UXR or a relevant social research field
The ability to step straight into a project and design and execute a research strategy for design
Experience collaborating with product managers and developers and managing technical requirements
Proven experience in research design and strategy, including end-to-end execution and large initiatives
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Confidence in facilitating workshops, and utilising various research methodologies as required
An ability to identify actionable insights through research.
Quickly and efficiently disseminate research results.
Balancing stakeholder needs and domain regulations when ideating business solutions.
Experience in the use of human-centred design in digital transformation would be advantageous
Experience using collaborative online whiteboarding platforms such as Miro
