About the Role

You’ll join a Melbourne-based design team of 2 other UX/UI Designers, responsible for designing websites and digital assets in a way that is attractive and convenient for end-users. You’ll collaborate to enhance the customer experience and the brand.

The role is predominantly UI, but there’s a chance to flex into UX if desired.

You’ll take ownership of the design standards, responsible for maintaining style guides and ensuring best practice is followed in all aspects of the design journey.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall design of the platform and relevant digital assets
• Create overall concepts to enhance the customer experience within the platform, ensuring all customer interactions are intuitive and easy to use
• Collaborate with product management and engineering
• Present ideas, concepts and design solutions to various internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback in your design
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate customer interaction and design concepts
• Design and maintain brand style guides to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colours and fonts
• Conduct customer research and evaluate feedback to optimise website and design performance
• Ensure that all design elements are responsive for all devices
• In collaboration with the engineering team, conduct testing of websites and digital assets to assess the customer experience
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
• Produce regular project status reports and updates to executive as require

Your Skills & Experience

• Mid-Senior level UI Designer skills, demonstrated in a strong portfolio
• Good attention to detail
• Experience creating storyboards and site mapping
• Good problem solver with the ability to optimise data for the best possible outcome
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively
• An ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
• Comfortable liaising with developers, with basic understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• Entrepreneurial spirit with drive and ambition
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
• Experience working on a high volume e-commerce site is desirable
• Bachelor Degree in Design, Fine Art or related field
• Proficient in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
