Big Data/ Cloudera Consultant

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Big Data consultant to join their successful tech team. This role will require you to utilise your skills in Cloudera across a range of tasks and ensure efficient and effective outcomes for clients and customers. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced professionals in a hands on environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work with big data and enhance your existing admin skills
• Support medium to large installations of Cloudera clusters
• Assist in Cloudera Cluster installation, configuration, and security administration
• Use the likes of HDFS, Python, Hive, Spark, HBase, Tez, Scala
• Work with Lean / Agile development methodologies
• Linux commands and administration duties
• Effectively communicate and articulate complex tasks into simple terms
• Strong Analytical Skills, ability to multi task
• Handle multiple stakeholders including management
• Work proactively and not just a task executor
• Experience and understanding of Production support and performance engineering.
• Work in team environment and utilise client interfacing skills

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer
• Extensive experience with Cloudera
• Must have knowledge of Linux
• Ability to work with modern programming language, including Python, R, or Java
• Experience with SQL, or NoSQL
• Experience with Tableau or Jupyter Notebook
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem
• Experience with data modelling concepts
• Experience with leading a technical team
• Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating with multiple functional groups
