Data Engineer

Salt is partnering with them in search of a Data Engineer to deliver normalised schemas, optimised queries, and fault-tolerant data platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

• Identifying data requirements and delivering data modelling and analysis activities.
• Designing and implementing end-to-end data warehouse, database, and reporting solutions.
• Assisting others in the design and implementation of database and reporting solutions.
• Implementing data governance to ensure data security, integrity, and quality.
• Modelling business data lifecycles and business data flows.
• Designing data pipelines, logic, and relationships.
• Selecting design standards, methods, and tools appropriate to the client’s technical environment.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or beyond in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
• Extensive experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Architecture.
• Extensive experience in Data Modelling, including relational modelling and star schemas.
• Extensive experience in developing data visualisation solutions.
• Demonstrable experience in ETL, ELT and associated frameworks.
• Demonstrable experience in SQL authoring and profiling/optimisation.
• Demonstrable experience in SQL Server best practices, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
• Demonstrable experience in handling both structured and unstructured data.
• Demonstrable knowledge of data formats (CSV, JSON, XML, and similar).
• Demonstrable knowledge of on-premise and cloud data services.
• Excellent communication skills (technical, non-technical, and mixed audiences).
• A strong passion for solving complex issues and enabling customers to make data-driven decisions!

*Please be aware, we require Australian Citizenship as a minimum for this role as you will be required to obtain security clearance.
