Seeking a Mid-level Database Administrator to join a leading Agile Disruptor, that has previously worked across INFORMIX & AWS platforms.

• Strong Informix & SQL tuning and debugging skills.
• Previous experience with AWS data-base platforms.
• 12-Month FTC, most likely to be made permanent / $130,000 Package + Performance bonus.

THE ROLE:

Seeking a Database Administrator that is a specialist across Informix platforms.

This person will be responsible for the availability, stability, performance, compliance, and security of various cloud hosted Database Management Systems used for a leading Agile Disruptor in Melbourne’s CBD.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong Informix & SQL tuning and debugging skills.
• Deployment of applications and services into AWS using a variety of automation tools such as CloudFormation, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet and Cloud provider API’s.
• Working in conjunction with project managers to coordinate the continual upgrading of systems.
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential application to IT support in the organization.
• Service Level Agreements – Ensure that service delivery and operational system availability SLA’s are met.
• Specialist skills in all aspects of Database Administration (Informix, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
• Skills in the design, development, and implementation of Database Management Systems
• Experience with CICD automated deployment, managing and monitoring AWS services: EC2, EBS, ELB, Route53, CloudFormation, S3, CloudWatch, Autoscaling, VPC and RDS.
• Proven ability in scripting/programming (UNIX Shell, Stored Procedures, SSIS, SSRS)
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong technical documentation skills
• Strong communications and stakeholder management skills

DESIRABLE CERTIFICATIONS:

• IBM Certified System Administrator – Informix 11.70/12.10
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert – SQL Server
• AWS Certified SA – Associate level.
