Seeking a Project Manager that has previous experience managing Physical Network Infrastructure projects including routers, switches, conduits, and civil works for an Australian University in Melbourne.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

  • $900.00 a Day Inclusive of super.
  • Initial 6-Month engagement, with possibility of extension.
  • Remote and flexible working arrangements, Melbourne CBD.
  • Hybrid working model.

THE ROLE:

  • HIGHLY REGARDED: Previous experience managing Physical Network Infrastructure projects including routers, switches, conduits, and civil works for an Australian university.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to manage and implement various IT infrastructure projects from ideation through final operational stage to business benefit realization and a business-as-usual state using an iterative approach such as tranches, releases, or sprints.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project(s) to ensure that each project successfully delivers required business outcomes.
  • Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and satisfactory completion of large complex infrastructure project(s) through managing business and wider organisational impacts, and resources including vendors and any other external stakeholders through negotiation and influencing necessary stakeholders.
  • Act as the escalation point of contact, recommending solutions and resolving more complicated project issues.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain strong and effective internal and external networks that are relevant to meeting the completion of projects.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of project(s) including dependencies across projects, political, business impact, market impact, and technical complexity.
  • Ensure that the realistic project, quality, and change control plans are prepared and maintained while providing regular and accurate updates to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Lead the project change management process and ensure deliverables are completed within planned cost, timeframe, and resource budgets are signed off.
  • Advocates the PMO methods and tools to deliver a standardised quality service of project management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • HIGHLY REGARDED: Previous experience managing Physical Network Infrastructure projects including routers, switches, conduits and civil works for an Australian university.
  • Substantial career evidence of ITS Infrastructure project management, including within large organisations experience in extensive project lifecycle experience understanding the planning and delivery of projects in its entirety.
  • Experience in large size asset refresh remotely, at an international location.
  • Able to execute in a fast-paced issue driven landscape.
  • Strong evidence of budget accountability with attention to detail for project reporting and finances including forecasting, estimating, reallocating funds, and creating clear contingencies.
  • PMP & Prince2 Certifications highly regarded.
  • Strong negotiation, defect management, and vendor management.
  • Substantial experience engaging and managing external vendors to project delivery outcomes including management to time, quality and financial KPI’s.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills, and the ability to adapt these to a diverse range of stakeholders and contexts with excellent attention to detail in written work. Proven capability in formal writing via correspondences with numerous parties.
  • Strong risk management both project risk/enterprise risk and issue management for assessing potential impacts to project performance and to the University.
  • Proven confidence in verbal communication with the successful ability to deal with people at all levels of an organisation including liaising with a wide range of diverse IT & business stakeholders. Experience liaising with senior stakeholders.
