Mid-level Java Analyst Engineer

Seeking a Mid-level Java Analyst Engineer to be actively involved in maintaining the Banking legacy systems, along with building new applications with some cutting-edge technology.

With this role you will be apart of an enterprise team, where you will get more experience to further develop your skills across Core Java, Spring Boot and React.

THE ROLE:

• There will be some after-hours 24×7 production support that is required as part of a roster/rotation, with a view to identifying pain points and improvement opportunities first-hand
• Contributing to the identification of sub optimal CI/CD practices and provide recommended solutions and help team improve productivity and efficiency
• Code development, testing, continuous improvement
• Managing change requests throughout life cycle in accordance with Service Management process: creation, approval, implementation.
• Developing and maintaining trusted technical advisor relationships with immediate business stakeholders.
• Creation and maintenance of Application Support knowledge base documentation.
• Ensuring relevant standards are applied with respect to Incident resolution, Problem and Change Management.
• Demonstrating professional and ethical behaviour by ensuring compliance with external and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Development experience in: Java, Spring Boot, React, Web API, Web Services, XML, HTML, Java Script
• Sound understanding of ITIL Methodology: Incident and Problem management and resolution; Change Management capability
• Source Control skills eg GitHub
• Cloud: Azure, AWS
• DB skills: Oracle, PostgreSQL/open source
• Sound knowledge of application infrastructure concepts, including the Windows operating system, networks, and databases (SQL)
• Experience in Agile Software Development
• Experience with APIs and Microservices design patterns
• Strong commitment to quality and an orientation to work accurately and seek continual improvement in satisfying business needs
