Mobile Developer

(Android and/or iOS experience required)

Digital Transformation Project

To create digital software (including web sites and native apps). To help and enable our client o strive for innovation and worl class digital experiences. To provide leadership through experience and technical capabilities.

General

• Participate in regular developer meetings and regular Digital team meetings
• Must be able to work with complexity / ambiguity in a dynamic / continuously changing environment
• Must strive to become a role model for the Enterprise Behaviours
• Must adhere to all internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
• Ability to work in a cross functional team
• Provide technical mentoring / guidance to less experienced members of apps development team.

Software Development

• Digital Development SME – Designing, coding, testing and installing applications programs either in one major language or in a range of programs across multiple platforms (including a combination of Bootstrap, AngularJS, Objective C, Swift and Android Java or Kotlin)
• Create innovative (and simple) solutions to business problems and technical issues as they arise
• Write high quality, re-usable code which can be easily reused and extended
• Have the capability to understand end to end solutions which use a range of different Technologies
• Fix defects quickly and with minimal impact. Where there is a larger impact, ensure it is communicated across the project as soon as possible
• Influence end to end architecture and propose solutions to new requirements

Agile

• Ensure all work is done using the Agile / SCRUM framework
• Work with the team (business rep, designers, testers, delivery, etc) to build out all acceptance critera before development starts
• Participate in daily stand ups, planning sessions and showcases
• Use JIRA to record all decisions that have been taken throughout a project
• Provide realistic estimates for work effort and manage expectations effectively
• Make every effort to deliver against stories which have been agreed within a sprint

Delivery

• Support the delivery team to ensure a smooth transition from development to SIT/UAT and production
• Provide assistance with production incidents where necessary
• Full responsibility for software even after delivered to production

Experience

• 5+ years hands-on development experience
• Detailed knowledge of mobile platform architecture
• Knowledge of banking platforms and products
• 5+ years of technology strategy experience
