The position involves participation in theupgrade of the corporate network and related LAN/WAN and VPN services. Upgrade, Configuration, installation and support of routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS devices, VoIP infrastructure, and other related network equipment would be included.
Duties:
Configuration and Management of various Cisco equipment including routers, switches and firewalls which use a variety of routing protocols such as IP Routing, EIGRP and BGP.
Cisco VoIP support, implementation and configuration a plus.
Firewall support. Implementation and configuration a plus.
Monitors network equipment for capacity planning and informs management of recurring or projected capacity problems and then initiates corrective action
Participates in project reviews/change control reviews to ensure project methodology and/or change control standards adhere to published network, system and security standards
Develops IT processes and documentation
Performing On-Call duties on a rotational basis including nights and weekends.
Participates in development of Corporate IT architecture/support standards, processes and procedures
Recognises and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed
Provides some server hardware support and administration
Support multiple customers across various sectors
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Experience in a network engineer position dealing primarily with Cisco equipment
TCP/IP, DNS, LAN and WAN infrastructures, MPLS/Frame Relay,IPSEC VPN
Experience with network/server hardware
Experience installing, administering and supporting firewalls (Check Point & Cisco)
Experience with multiple vendors (HP/Dell/Juniper switches, routers, firewalls)
Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, etc ) a plus
