This role is with one of the leading IT service providers, providing services in Cloud, Cyber Security, Data Centres, Business Continuity, Hardware Maintenance, Serviced Office and Digital Workplace.
Responsibilities:
Implementation, maintenance, enhancement and support of new and existing virtualisation infrastructure, environments, and solutions.
Design and test new products and solutions.
Manage the installation and deployment of new virtualisation software and technologies to ensure resources are available for business users.
Backup, recovery, and DR testing.
Provide Level 3 support as required.
Accurately maintain and follow all configuration, process and service documentation.
Advise management of any identified risks to systems availability, performance, reliability, and security. – Ensure all deployed infrastructure is operating correctly, performing according to design specifications and in accordance with operational requirements.
Carry out work in line with existing service delivery (ITIL) processes.
Provide recommendations to improve reliability and manageability of managed systems.
Perform infrastructure planning, design, build, test, deployment & change control activities in accordance with existing service delivery (ITIL) processes and in line with industry best-practices.
Provide presales technical & pricing assistance for CMS sales opportunities to ensure projects can be delivered within time-based, technical & budget requirements.
Requirements:
Support experience with significantly sized user base.
Experience supporting / installing with a detailed and demonstrated knowledge of VMware vSphere, VCD, NSX;
Experience supporting with a detailed and demonstrated knowledge of Cisco UCS Servers, including UCSM, CIMC Supervisor
Strong understanding of DR technologies such as Zerto, SRM
Experience supporting Microsoft Server O/S and Hyper-V
Previous experience with Hyperconverged technologies such as Cisco Hyperflex is desirable.
Strong understanding of specific platform specialisation area including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, replication technologies, security hardening and performance tuning
Strong understanding of service monitoring, management
Strong customer communication and documentation skills
Demonstrable strong PowerShell and scripting experience
Knowledge of Public Cloud technologies, such as Azure and AWS
Working knowledge in change, incident, configuration and problem management, such as ITIL
Previous experience in infrastructure design, build, deployment and high-availability (including DR) testing
