We’re looking for a passionate Front EndDeveloper to join a leading Online Retailer. Reporting into the Solutions Architect, the main purpose of the role is to execute a clean, beautiful, functional front-end for the group’s e-commerce platforms.
To be considered for this position you will be a developer who has a sense of urgency, great attention to detail, strong resilience and excellent communication skills.
You will need development experience with:
JavaScript ES6 and ES7
js / React/ Angular framework
SCSS and CSS3+
Bootstrap 4 CSS framework
js and NPM
Webpack 2
Gulp
Lodash JS framework
Google Maps API
Here’s the expected skill-set:
Able to code in native JavaScript without relying on jQuery
Can create animations and transitions in pure CSS
Familiar with code linting and working to code style standards
Has used JavaScript bundling tools + understands bundling and loading strategies
Ability to debug complex JavaScript, e.g. with Google Chrome Devtools
Basic understanding of Linux/Unix commands (e.g. directory traversal, file permissions)
Ability to understand technical documentation
Working knowledge of multiple web and application tier technologies: Tomcat, WebSphere, Apache, Ngnix, Https, tcServer.
Experience with source control systems: Bitbucket/ Github/ Mercurial.
Experienced using collaboration tools such as JIRA / Confluence.
Good knowledge of design patterns and software development best practices. Experience with Performance tuning, Unit testing, Integration testing and assist in User-Acceptance Testing
These are nice to have but not essential:
Java programming experience and ability to work with JSP files
System scripting languages, e.g. bash, python
Jenkins for build and deployment automation
Knowledge of cloud hosting
Understanding of web performance concepts
Have an opinion on emerging digital technology and web architecture.
Have an understanding of security requirements to develop secure services.
Comfortable with complete application development life-cycle including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance and support.
Knowledge of development lifecycle best practices including version control, QA, build/release management
Ability to apply performance optimisation changes like caching,
