Seeking a Senior Network Administrator to come join a well-respected government IT team, working across various high-level projects in Perth’s inner north.

Responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of network and security hardware and related IT infrastructure, ensuring that Networking and security standards and related procedures adhere to best practices.

  • Permanent Role – Paying up to $120,000 + Superannuation.
  • Relocation costs provided for candidates relocating to Perth from other areas of Australia.

THE ROLE

  • Ensure that the Organisations network is designed, configured, and appropriately secured from external and internet threats.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of configurations, standards, and vendor activities.
  • Scripting configuring, maintaining, supporting, and upgrading hardware and associated software for ICT, communications equipment, and peripheral equipment.
  • Implement and administer corporate network communication systems.
  • Establish VPN, LAN, WAN and DMZ specifications; analyse workflow, access, information, and security requirements; design router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Monitor the performance of the Organisations networks; continually improve the networks by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning upgrades and patch management.
  • Technical management of the Organisations VoIP Systems, including capacity management, backup, recovery, and optimisation to ensure performance.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation’s Production network policies, documentation, procedures, and related operational check lists.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business/commerce/computer science or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Cisco Certification CCNP (Routing & Switching)
  • ITIL Certification Foundation or higher
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate the behaviours as outlined in the Organisations Competency Framework in accordance with Cluster descriptors relevant to the position.
  • Knowledge of ICT infrastructure technologies such as VMs and Microsoft Servers including Cloud-based solutions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and to collaborate productively with colleagues on work allocation and priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and administration of large
  • complex networks across multi sites.
  • Demonstrated experience in network tuning and optimisation using network technologies and solutions including IPv6, MPLs, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, multicast, policy-based routing, ether-channel, QoS, VPN tunnels, WAN Optimization.
  • Experience in Cisco VoIP systems, network security, Routing/Switching technologies, virtualisation and developing supporting processes/procedures.
  • Considerable experience with network security policies and firewall.
  • Sound knowledge of information technology such as networking, VPN, Routing/Switching, Virtualisation, Cisco VoIP Systems and Network Security.
