SIEM Engineer

Join the team at a Government Department to work with innovative technology to build advanced security operations for the State of NSW.

Successful candidates will have previous experience in one of the following disciplines: Digital Forensics, Incident Response, Site Reliability Engineering, Network Security, Cloud Security.

You will be responsible for building new integrations to support the Cyber detect, response and forensics teams for the state as part of the Cyber Uplift and Reform team. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience focused on automation and reliability.

Key responsibilies:

* Managing data inputs, indexing, data retention, on the SIEM platforms, as well as user access and privileges on the platforms.

* Manages the Deployment Server and our fleet of Universal Forwarders.

* Ensures (with the help of vendors/partners) data is normalised, optimised, and high fidelity.

* Contribute to detection engineering to enhance and improve the platforms.

* Support and contribute to cyber security investigations and cases.

* Contribute to the selection and implementation of new technology and solutions, including in the assistance of the development of business cases.
