Site Reliability Engineer

Our Global client is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with strong Linux System Engineering / DevOps skills to join their high performing tech team. The successful candidate will possess strong LAMP skills and python scripting skills, this role also requires Baseline Security Clearance.

In this role you will focus on the implementation and maintenance of operational strategies while also combining your core technical skills in coding and networking. Responsibilities:

• Strong communication skills with an ability to relay incident details efficiently and effectively
• Strong organizational skills with extremely high level of attention to detail
• Customer focused – Investigates and resolves customer issues and inquiries with an ability to prioritise accordingly
• Identify, receive, triage and act upon events and incidents coming from various SaaS services
• Monitor the availability or the CI/CD environments
• Working under pressure in production environments running production customer workloads and services
• Previous knowledge or strong desire to learn about crisis management issues.
• Ability to work with geographically disperse teams part of a world-wide operations team

Skills:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Engineering Experience with a proven track record of delivering highly available and scalable systems
• Strong Linux experience
• MySQL database expertise
• Building tools and scripting frameworks from scratch
• Very strong in Python coding
• Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes, Docker and proven at scale
• Strong networking and infrastructure experience
• Strong with public cloud architecture AWS/Azure
• Excellent communication skills essential to work as part of a global team
