The Company

Salt is excited to have teamed up a well established SaaS organisation based in Melbourne, who is currently seeking a Squad Lead to join their Engineering teams on a permanent basis.

The Role

As a Squad Lead, you will should be technical as well as have experience in people leadership, and will be responsible for:

• Managing a small team of Engineers
• Training and mentoring junior members of the team
• Team uplift and ensuring high standards are met and maintained
• Driving best practices and development principles
• Overseeing and leading the development of projects
• Setting the Target State Architecture, Solution Architect, Solution Design, and Project Delivery
• Liaising with various business stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure that projects are delivered on time

Key Skills and Competencies

The successful Squad Lead should have the following skill set:

• Previous experience in leading / managing Engineering teams
• An extensive technical background and experience with Java, Micro Services (Spring Boot) and JavaScript (React.js)
• In depth knowledge in designing and developing RESTful APIs (Kong, Kemp)
• Experienced with Enterprise Databases (SQL)
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Strong knowledge of Solution Architecture and Design
• Experience in developing product road-maps and design documents
• Ability to oversee various engineering teams and distribute the development workload
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage business stakeholders
• Full working rights in Australia
