The Company:

A well-established renowned software company who engages in the provision of enterprise cloud computing solutions. The firm delivers digital workflows on a single enterprise cloud platform called the Now Platform. Its product portfolio is focused on providing Information Technology, Employee and Customer workflows.

Job Responsibilities:

* Resolve operational issues in the load-balancing infrastructure of both an urgent and non-urgent nature.

* Research and test ways to improve our load-balancing infrastructure.

* Identify repetitive tasks and automate them using Ansible or Python.

* Use Ansible to maintain and deploy host configurations.

* Take a lead role in the engagement and mitigation of outage causing events or issues.

* Engage deeply in the sustainment function to proactively analyze network parameters such as capacity and availability to ensure issues are fixed before they cause an outage.

* Review, consult and prepare for planned change introduction to the production environment.

* Participate in rotating “on-call” schedule with other members of the team including weekends.

* Perform software upgrades and security patching.

* Partner with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to provide mentorship and input on operational process improvements.

* Provide feedback to infrastructure architects on design issues or improvements and input into the design process for new initiatives.

* Participate in incident bridges and serve as the networking engineering resource to troubleshoot and mitigate outages.

* Create and maintain technical documentation of the infrastructure and processes.

* Contribute to processes and automation to help build a low-touch, continuous deployment infrastructure where inputs at one end of the deployment pipeline are manifested in production in minutes with zero impact and a 100% success rate, allowing us to deploy or update at scale with a few clicks.

To be successful in the role:

* experience in a solid foundation in load-balancing, Linux, networking, and security.

* Sysadmin-level knowledge of Linux, including systems performance.

* Session layer technologies such as HTTP, TLS, REST API, etc.

* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

* Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Git

* Experience in one or more automation languages (Python, shell scripting, Perl, Ansible, Terraform).

* Good, basic understanding of BGP.

* Deep, hands-on experience with TCP/IP protocols including capturing and analyzing traffic with Wireshark and/or other tools.

* Familiarity with Cisco IOS and JunOS operating systems required.

* NGINX knowledge is highly desired.

* F5 BigIP experience is a plus.

* Good understanding of syslog and Splunk.

* Ability to partner with peers who are globally distributed is a key part of this role.

* Passion for customer experiences and focus on delivering high quality support.

* Strong communication skills and empathy for customers.

* Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

BS or equivalent working experience with 10 years of relevant work experience in working on data center infrastructure.

Shift timing : 7am to 4pm, Rotating roster

Location: Sydney
