System Administrator – AIX Engineer

Job Summary

The IT Administrator responsible for the installation, configuration, and day-to-day administrative tasks required to support Infrastructure operations. This includes the design and implementation of Infrastructure based on system requirements and advanced troubleshooting of Infrastructure in a distributed environment.

Essential Functions

• Provide daily system administration duties for IBM server hardware running AIX, including patching, monitoring, and securing servers in an enterprise environment.
• Execute implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
• Execute tasks associated with departmental projects to ensure timely completion.
• Provide operational status updates to Sr. IT Engineer and IT Management team when needed.
• Participate in the development of architecture design and integration with existing IT infrastructure.
• Align tactical objectives with other IT departments.
• Understand how tactical goals and projects align to departmental budget

• ABM AIX Certification highly desirable
• Understanding of AI and Intersystems
• Virtualisation experience and understanding
• Experience working with power, 6, 7 or 8 IBM hardware highly desirable
