Job Description – Technical Lead – Functional Programming

• Excellent development skills in one or more of Ruby, Python, Golang, Java, React and the Web building blocks (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)
• Proficiency with Elixir or functional programming
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary engineers within a cross-functional team where coaching, mentoring and enabling people are applied to deliver results
• Strong capability in the use of modern technology to build APIs
• Research and analysis of competing technology choices, to make informed decisions based on user needs; with a strong consideration of open source technology
• Experience in building accessible products
• Strong experience in reviewing code and design of other developers and providing constructive feedback
• Experience with automated configuration management, deployment and testing solutions
• Experience designing structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and take into account target environment, performance/security/accessibility requirements and existing systems

Desirable criteria

• Ability to work in a diverse multidisciplinary (MDT) team outside of your specialty with user researchers and designers.
• Experience in agile techniques and methodology
• Promote a positive ‘can do’ and ‘how might we’ creative culture and help to build a strong technical reputation
• Work at pace as part of an agile multi-disciplined team
