Perm Role – Offering $120k including super

The Company

A well-established renowned telecommunications company which builds and operates telecommunications networks and markets voice, mobile, internet access, pay television and other products and services.

Job Responsibilities

· Assist in developing, deploying, and improve specific video element technologies and their interaction with processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units

· Translation of business requirements to deliver video elements into realizable products, services, or systems and/or networks infrastructure in a timely, high quality and cost effective way to ensure the operational capability to deliver

· Assess capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and manage vendor technology delivery.

· Development of technology guidelines and standards in the design and deployment of technology.

· HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with and implement any reasonable HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support company to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.

· Managing the configuration of the Global Media Networks for end to end video distribution and activation of new customer sites.

· Manage Customer Premise Equipment for broadcast customers and provide Level 3 engineering support.

Required Skills

· Proven IP networking deployment experience with L2 and L3 networks.

· Strong network engineering skills and technical expertise, specifically with video networks.

· Able to effectively work through high pressure and complex situations

· Experience working in operational or enterprise technical support roles

· Good technical skills in operating systems such as Unix/Linux

· Exposure to one or more media network vendors, including Medialinks, Cisco and Arista

· Expertise in network management tools and network EMS.

· Experience configuring network monitoring and alarming solutions

Must Skills

· Exposure to cloud technologies and migration of platforms to virtualized solutions.

· An understanding of the concept of Software Defined Networks (SDN).

· Comfort with programming and strong grasp of operating systems concepts

· Technical certification (CCNP or higher)

· Deep understanding of SMPTE standards and roadmaps

Education Qualifications

Tertiary qualification – Bachelor of Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience in media networks, working for telecommunications operators or network equipment vendors
