SEO Copy Writer

Our client, a multi-award winning marketing agency, is looking for a Senior Copywriter to join their team.

This role is 50% strategy 50% writing. This role will primarily be responsible for conceptualization and execution of content strategy (copy) projects ranging from a variety of vertices. This includes understanding GAP analysis to target content; keyword research to identify the priority key terms as well as understanding trends analysis for calendar creation timings. This role also requires to review, edit and train the junior copywriters on the team.

Main Duties:

The role is varied; with daily tasks including client strategy, content optimization & content strategy, technical audits and analysis & research.

The candidate will both support on key accounts within the team and take ownership of a number of client accounts with support from the SEO Account Director and Client Strategy Team.

Research

● Research customer stories for case studies and evidence.

● Research and communicate with new affiliate sources

● Observe products/services in use and examine them to gain understanding; have strong

product knowledge.

● Conduct GAP analysis, trends analysis and keyword research

Content Management

● Create client content strategy

● Create content calendar based on research

● Create long form web content with strong consideration of SEO best practices.

● Maintain accurate information in data files.

● Post press releases to different syndications

Team Management

● review help and edit junior writers work

● train juniors in content techniques and strategies

● help with internal workshops for team

Skills, knowledge and experience required.:

● 3+ years of leadership or project oversight experience in a collaborative environment.

● 5+ experience in Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills required.

● Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Journalism, English, Communications, Creative

Writing, Marketing or similar

● Experience writing ranking SEO content required – please provide links for content you’ve

written recently that can be found through search engines.

● Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, thorough attention to

detail, strong prioritisation, project management skills, and the ability to set and meet tight

deadlines.

● Team management experience

● Intermediate level in Microsoft Office, also has previous experience in Google Slides and

Microsoft Suite

● Knowledge of current SEO best practices required.

● Knowledge of Google Analytics and Search Console a plus, as well as SEO tools, such as

SEMrush, ahrefs, and Moz.
