Reporting directly to the Management, you will be the figurehead of the IT function and be responsible for the overall strategic planning, project delivery, infrastructure management, budgeting and resource allocation of the department. Being a key member in the leadership team, you will work closely and build a collaborative work relationship with multiple stakeholders at local, regional and global level. You will manage key system upgrade projects and ensure the delivery of quality IT services to the business. Managing a small team, you will coach and guide your team members and ensure personal development plans are in place. You will keep track of the latest technologies in the market and ensure an optimal usage of relevant technologies in the organization.


  • Sets the technical vision and strategy to ensure that the company’s technology development roadmap and system architecture is line with business goals.
  • Partners with the top management to evaluate the company’s product, engineering, and technology roadmaps. Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals and the wider group technology strategy.
  • Represents the technology team across departments and communicates technology strategy to stakeholders, partners and investors, and provides appropriate management information to feed into Board reporting.
  • Manages the whole IT system and application team which is responsible for implementation, testing, software support, system upgrade in the group, and to also identify any potential areas for improvement or problems.
  • Oversees all in-house and third-party software systems from design, development, testing to production, while monitoring system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency at scale.
  • Oversees the Data function of the company, including but not limited to, data architecture, tech stack, and infrastructure to develop strategies for leveraging data to gain deep insights and any support business needs.
  • Understanding of data models and an understanding of how data should be modeled for performance. Experience writing SQL queries for SQL Server or another Relational Database.
  • Helps define and enforce DevOps standards, procedures, and guidelines to improve the overall development process.
  • Maintains a high standard of output from mobile application and web developers to ensure alignment of all technology selections and interoperability of all solutions.
  • Monitors team KPIs and IT/Data budgets of the department to assess technological performance.
  • Stays abreast of trends and advances in IT solutions and monitors changes in the operating environment.
  • Ensures the best engineering practices and softwares are being used along with ensuring high quality code base, smooth scaling, site reliability, system security, and corresponding training is provided to the teams.
  • Safeguards all hardware and software assets. Ensure safe, reliable operations of critical systems.
  • Oversees the whole technology department, including hire, lead, coach and develop the team. Acts as an excellent role model and holds team members accountable to core values, high professional standards, communications and goals.
  • Actively seeks out talents and reviews the existing team structure and ensures a most efficient allocation of manpower and resources.


  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Prior CTO / Head of Engineering experience for a digital department or startup in online media, e-commerce or other related industry.
  • 10+ years’ experience in project management to ensure timely deliverables. Understanding of budgets and business-planning.
  • Significant experience in software architecture and personally building digital products from early-stage through to scaling and maturity.
  • Managed, mentored, and inspired a small team of engineers providing architectural guidance, code reviews, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack modern development practices (eg: DevOps, CI)
  • Profound knowledge in web related programming languages including PHP, Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Profound knowledge of relational, non-relational and cloud database including query and cost optimization etc. MySQL, Postgres and BigQuery is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence BI tools.
  • Experience in frontend and/or backend of Web3, and experience working with Crypto/blockchains/NFTs is a plus.
