Product Designer – Travel & Leisure – Up to £70,000

The Company

Incredible design sits at the heart of my client’s digital experiences and they’re looking for a new Product Designer to help build new, exciting and innovative solutions that create journeys like no other.

My client are a world renowned travel & leisure brand with flights landing and launching all over the world! – Your work will be seen and used by millions of people every year and the company are currently building out brand new products, so you will have the opportunity to work on greenfield projects for a world recognised brand!

The Role

It’s a big role for a big thinker. You’ll be helping develop the digital expression of our world-famous brand into experiences that people love. This means taking an iterative and agile approach to design, helping to deliver a strong and consistent user experience at every step of the way. It also means threading together design thinking and user insight, with analytics and goals from an ever-changing business.

We’re looking for a brilliant designer, but an even better collaborator – as you’ll be working closely alongside a truly superb team of fellow designers, developers and product owners.

Principal Accountabilities

• Experience working on a live digital product at scale, with both engineers and product/project managers
• Advanced skills in industry-leading design and prototyping software, i.e Figma
• Experience working in Lean, Agile or matrix organisations
• Have a strong understanding of human-centred design and Design Thinking principles and methodologies to create intuitive interfaces and interactions
• You’re curious – looking to develop a deep understanding of our data and what motivates our users and shapes their behaviour
• A clear understanding of how research, testing and data analytics works with the design process
• Lead or participate in workshops to drive alignment, clarity and shared understanding
• You enjoy sharing and collaborating on your thinking with engineers, stakeholders and other people in the business to ensure your work is robust and effective
• Comfortable communicating design rationale and justifying design decisions within the team and to stakeholders
• Map journeys and flows, while also developing interactions, from rough sketches through to market-ready product experiences.
• Design and maintain the components, interactions, and transitions, design patterns as part of a Design System or component library to ensure quality, consistency and ensure efficient collaboration with developers
• You are able to work at different levels of fidelity from sketching through to designs, sharing ideas early and refining them with others
• Bring visions to life by creating engaging, hi-fidelity prototypes, paying particular attention to micro-interactions, motion and animation to enhance the user experience

Experience & Skills

• A portfolio with elegant and intuitive design examples within the context of digital product design
• Demonstration of your approach to UX and Design
• Experience building device-agnostic digital products: running across mobile/tablet/desktop
• Experience at work with Research, Product, Content and Development
• An advocate of scaleable design systems, with experience in creating or maintaining such systems
• A solid understanding and examples of interaction design
• Guiding, mentoring and supporting other members of the team
• Desire to work and collaborate with our engineers to ship solutions
• Fluent in Figma, Zeplin, Miro, and other practical modern design tools

Expertise / Specialist Knowledge

• 5+ years experience within UX or Product Design
• Experience working with Product and delivering features/updates to user experience
• Experience in consumer facing, revenue-generating products
• Experience working with Research throughout projects
• Experience working with or a basic understanding of Design Systems
• Mobile application product development and feature delivery
