UX/UI Designer

Greater London Contract £300.00 - £350.00 per day

The company in question offers holistic services and consultation across the full Spectrum in Creative and Digital Design. As a rapidly growing integrated Design and Experience Design agency, they bring together creative and strategic expertise, a deeper understanding and appreciation for technology, and innovation in managing, putting into action and collecting data derived insights to align themselves with some of the major organisations they have worked with past and present. They have a ‘game changing’ opportunity for a UX/UI Designer to come in and work on the number of projects. They boast an impressive Portfolio of clients. Your role will be to create over a wide array of innovative digital products and transformation solutions for a diverse range of industries, across the whole end to end process; from inception and concept to delivery.

You will be keen to attend and even lead workshops with clients to understand their problems in your specialist area. You will have and be happy to share your passion for creating user-journeys, wireframes, prototypes and general solutions. You will enjoy being part of presenting them back and then taking these prototypes through to full UI design to go to developers. You will be expected to show strong skills in UX, UI, prototyping and creative design as well as showing the ability to clearly articulate and present your idea, style variations and concepts. The work you produce will be of the highest quality and optimised for the required delivery format. In your day to day duties, you will be working with the end clients of the agency. You will be speaking to various stakeholders to gauge needs, project managers, Developers, SEA specialists and other representatives. Your mission, should you choose to accept, will be to create hi end products. The expectation will be for you actively and enthusiastically participate in conception and delivery of relevant workshops and presentations to convey design process and thinking to stakeholders. There will be involvement in creating proposals, briefs and pitches aimed with informing and time tracking the process of Delivery.

  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative and Agile environment.
  • Passionate about developing strategies derived from insight, with the mastery of your craft to turn these into products (both interactions and visuals) adhering to user-centered design principles.
  • You are constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether through hands-on user research, or by designing options for multi-variant testing.
  • Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Sketch, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, InVision etc).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations when designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile, conversational and voice interfaces, Android and iOS apps.
  • 3 years’ experience in Digital Design.
  • Solid experience designing and participating in workshops.

As a UX/UI Designer you will:

  • Have a mix of User Experience and User Interface design skills – including interaction and Information Architecture design, psychology and user-centered design principles.
  • Possess a passion for all things design, with the ability to demonstrate this passion through your work and when communicating with business stakeholders and customers.
  • Work within an Agile multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver user-interface designs and journeys across the website, app and other digital platforms.
  • Work closely with a wide range of people from across the business to understand and interpret requirements, identify opportunities, and communicate design strategy and rationale.
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.

Extra desirable competencies would include:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is helpful, just to know the limitations and capabilities of web languages, coding is not a requirement.
  • Familiar with Invision or more advanced prototyping tools such as Framer.
  • Familiar with After Effects, experience doing basic animations etc.
  • Experience working on product design projects and creating consistent design rules and style guides that can be scaled up and easily relayed to developers.
